The OSC staff members and the Staff Representation Committee (SRC), formed by a majority of international and professional OSC staff, are pleased to announce the launch of the official website of the Staff Rights and Justice Initiative (SRJI):
The website has been established as the official information and communication platform of the OSC staff members community, represented by the SRC, providing a central source of verified information, official statements, key documents, and updates concerning the ongoing humanitarian crisis situation affecting current and former staff members of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC).
Created by the majority of the OSC’s professional and senior staff, the SRC represents the collective interests of staff members affected by the Organization’s closure and the prolonged non-payment of salaries, benefits, and other contractual entitlements, ongoing since March-April 2025. Through the SRJI, the Committee seeks to promote transparency, accountability, respect for staff rights, and constructive engagement with all relevant stakeholders.
The website has been designed to serve a broad audience, including Member States, Founding States diplomatic missions, international organizations including human rights agencies, the media, civil society, current and former OSC staff members, and all others with an interest in the evolving situation. It provides access to:
- Information about the SRC and the SRJI;
- Background on the governance and staff humanitarian crisis;
- Official appeals, statements, correspondence and press releases;
- Reference documents and relevant resources;
- News, announcements and key developments and
- Contact information for communication with the SRC.
The objective of the OSC SRJI is to provide an accurate, transparent and regularly updated source of information while fostering constructive dialogue and supporting efforts toward a fair, lawful and equitable resolution of the outstanding staff salaries, benefits and contractual entitlements which remain unpaid for up to 16 months.
